Mortal Engines Review

Mortal Engines

by Philip Reeve

Incredible imagination went into the making of this extremely unique book. The descriptions of the moving towns and cities are so rich even between dialogue. Even though it’s set in the far future, the moving towns and cities sound like a legend from the 1800s. The book does get a little confusing at points, but it’s usually easy to follow. I loved how each character is almost opposite from the next, but they still help each other. I highly recommend this unique science fiction novel to anybody who loves extreme imagination.

Compound Complex: Once, twice she kicked it, the wood  around the hole splintering and yielding, and at the third kick a whole section of planking fell out, spilling across the walkway outside. page 80

Genius Confucius Quote

Confucius was a Chinese philosopher who lived from 551 BC to 479 BC and influenced Asian social structure and government for centuries. Confucius believed society and government should be moral, logical, and just. He was known for creating a way of life called Confucianism that was followed almost as a religion. Confucius today has 2 million known descendants. He probably meant learning without understanding the information is useless but making decisions without knowing much is dangerous. I believe all his teachings are relevant through all time in all circumstances. More people now should follow Confucius’s teachings or even just his principles because they are plain logic.
